DIVISIONS (all divisions are offered as BOTH GI & NO-GI)
This tournament we are only offering two skill levels for men; the Under-Belt Division and the Title Division. The Under-Belt Division is for beginners, white belts or any one new to the sport. The Men's Title Division is for intermediate and advanced grapplers, anyone with Jiu-Jitsu, Judo or Sambo rank or fighters with a lot of wrestling experience. Fighters with more than a year submission grappling experience should consider competing in the Title Division but any grappler with more than two years experience should definitely be in it. Our Goal is to make the Title Division the Big Division, rather than have the beginner divisions be huge with only a handful of advanced fighters. This also allows us to offer 6 weight classes for the Title division rather than the normal 2-3 advanced divisions. Women and Juniors (age 17 & under) will all compete in their respective Title Division, realistically most of them are beginners anyway. Below are the weight divisions for each group, weigh-in will determine actual division you will compete in.
Use this chart to find a Junior Competitor's Division. First find the competitors age, then slide to the weight class, then slide up to find the junior competitor's division.
Division 1-5 will use the special point rules with a 3-minute time limit. See Rules.
Girls age 13-17 may compete in either the women's division or the junior division.
We are still looking for a few more referee's anyone wanting to referee please call 801-636-4136 and ask for Michael. Referees would be able to compete in a division free of charge.
